Reservoir Woods Roseville, MN
The Reservoir Woods project involved creating a public amenity in an underused, scenic tract of land in Roseville that for years had been managed by the City of St. Paul Waterworks Department. The woods, primarily a coniferous forest, was largely inaccessible to the public but is home to a plethora of wildlife including a vast number of bird species. The site contains an abandoned granite-lined reservoir, as well as a reservoir in use today.
A trail system was carefully designed at the site by walking and staking the alignment in the field. The trail winds its way through the forest and includes a variety of amenities including an overlook, rest shelter, signage, benches, and walls. A tunnel under a major city street connects the trail to other regional systems in the area.
