Jean Garbarini is a registered Landscape Architect and Senior Associate with CLOSE Landscape Architecture+, a planning and design firm located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jean has over fifteen years experience on a wide range of projects, including community master planning, campus planning, park design, public landscapes, corporate campus design, restoration and private gardens. Her award-winning work includes a major urban park revitalization in a restored north Minneapolis neighborhood, an innovative and attractive stormwater mitigation project embedded in a suburban neighborhood and a beautifully detailed private residential site on the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes. Most recently, Jean has won preservation awards for the restoration of a privately owned mid-century modern garden originally designed by Sasaki, Walker and Associates.

Jean is an active member of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, currently serving on its executive Board. She remains linked to the University, where she has been a guest critic in design studios of the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
